Brett Amory Internal Dialogue
This June Lazarides Rathbone welcomes American contemporary artist Brett Amory back to London with his new solo show, Internal Dialogue.
While the artist's critically acclaimed Waiting series depicted fragments of everyday life, the new paintings explore moments in time and how our unconscious mind assembles these disjointed, nonlinear events and creates a logical, linear explanation of our surroundings.
Internal Dialogue is also concerned with the human habit of viewing the reality through the screens of our devices and completing the gaps of the surrounding world through our unconscious mind.
Since each painting represents an isolated moment, the artist allows the viewer to rely on their own memories, dreams, thoughts and universal archetypal symbols to create their own meaning of the artwork they are viewing.
