The notorious Frieze week is upon us, art crowds are swarming into London, collectors are multipling by the second and the Lazarides team are once again submerged in a freezing abandoned building somewhere. With 16 International artists busy installing their adventurous contributions to BRUTAL there's barely been a minute to stop and contemplate why we persist in taking on such outrageous projects. Needless to say it went down to the wire with only minutes to spare before doors opened to our preview guests yesterday evening at 180 The Strand. As always, it all came good in the end, with music from Lazarides favourite Chris Sullivan and live performances choreographed by Robert Hylton. Victoria Al-Din and Michael Smythe deserve production duo of the year for this one!
A massive Thank You to The Vinyl Factory for their collaboration and providing such a fitting space, as well as Oliver Rudkin for his tireless event photography.
BRUTAL is now open to the public, running from 15th–27th October, 12–9pm, at 180 The Strand.
