'It's A Wonderful World' a solo show by Antony Micallef
Antony Micallef is having a solo exhibtion called 'It's a Wonderful World' at the Lazarides Gallery at the beginning of October.According to Antony ''The exhibtion will showcase over 20 new pieces - an accumulation of his work over the last 7 months. The exhibition is a comforting reminder that the world isn't in that bad of a state really, and that if it all gets a bit too depressing....we can always change the channel".
To accompany the exhibition we have produced a limited edition book; there are 500 copies of which 100 are signed. The unsigned copies are priced at £20 and the signed £45. They can be posted or picked up from the gallery, if you wish to purchase a copy please telephone the gallery. In order to make it fair for everyone we can only sell one signed copy per customer.
There is also a limited edition litho of Antony's 'Girl in Red Dress' painting.
Currently we don't have any further info about the print, as soon as we do we will post it here and let the mailing list know.
If you can't make it to the exhibition, you can download this lovely image by Antony and make it your desktop picture.

The Sound Of Stones in the Glass House

From Friday 6th October Gee Vaucher, the grande dame of punk art, and Christian Brett are having a show at the 96 Gillespie gallery. Find out more.
London Views Panels
We now have for sale the Stanley Donwood London Views panels from the exhibition. Each of the sections were first proofed on a huge cast-iron printing press, an Albion, made in 1860. These were scanned and printed on to large aluminium/polymer composite panels, and caged with diamond-pattern wire, reminiscent of the Evening Standard headline-boards that infect the capital with their own dire predictions. Each of these panels are 75 cm wide x 140 cm high. If you would like to purchase one please contact the gallery.Banksy's LA Show - Barely Legal - 15th to 17th Sept 2006
The venue details will be available on the day of the opening from Banksy's website.
Banksy has punked Paris Hilton
As we're sure you're all aware, Banksy has punked Paris Hilton's latest musical offering (who says you can't polish a turd eh?).There were 500 copies 'distributed' to various record shops up and down the country.
You won't be able to buy one here at the gallery. No amount of bribery, threatening behaviour or cake baking will enable you to get one from us, we don't have any, so please don't ring us up!
It will take your tenacity and a bus pass if you want to find one.
So look out for one at a record shop near you and good luck.
See how it was done.

Grizzly Bear - Yellow House (out on 4th September)
For those who don’t know, Warp are very proud to announce the signing and imminent release of the Brooklyn quartet, Grizzly Bear, a band whose psychedelic swirling Americana and searing beach boy harmonies couldn’t help but lure us in.They're remarkable not just for their attention to detail but for their concern for how a song feels: flush with heart and melancholy, their music is seductive and intimate, deep with hazy-eyed choruses, whistles, piano and banjo. They know melody and ambiance are necessary complements.
This is experimental mood music with love for classics and standards.
Thanks to Martina @ Warp for info and enthusiasm.

Chuzzlewit Gazette
Chuzzlewit’s an interesting chap. A man of many passions, his periodical, the Chuzzlewit Gazette, made me laugh the way fanzines are supposed to. Mens’ magazines these days are so retarded I'd feel less embarrassed brandishing a copy of Razzle on the tube. Forget 'The Guide'; he's not trying to educate you, although you might learn more from his 'Ask A Six Year Old' section than anything you'll find in the Guardian's A5 style manifesto (I’m sorry, but do you really need a review of 'Snakes On A Plane'?). Feeling smug is not the point, or maybe it is.Anyway, his mix tape is up on the music player this month and the Gazette will soon be available to buy from the gallery.
