If you're in or around New York frickin' City in the next month or so, check out Todd James aka Reas' first ever (wtf?!) solo show in NYC, 'Make My Burden Lighter' which runs from January 15 to February 20th at Gering Lopez Gallery.
For those that don't know, Todd first made a name for himself as Reas in the 1980s underground graffiti culture of New York. He went on to design the logos for The Source as well as Mobb Deep, Redman, and the Beastie Boys. In 2000, he collaborated with Steve Powers and Barry McGee on the legendary Street Market project that was shown at Deitch Projects, and was included in the traveling exhibition Beautiful Losers in 2004. We at Lazarides know there are many, many reasons to like Todd James, but for those who don't, this show is a good place to start.
